GENERAL OPTIONS

OTHER OPTIONS
For some time now Hutchins Memorial has been in need of repair or over all renovation. A number of public meetings have been held and more are likely on the way.

One of the difficulties has been a wide range of opinions from what got us here to what ought to be done next. The realists have pretty much left the "how we got here" discussion. The only part of that discussion that remains has to do with the general attitude toward Hutchins Memorial and its future use and maintenance. Popular opinion seems to support a renovation or reinvention of Hutchins Memorial.

The city commissioners suffer with the problem of having too many options. To their credit the city fathers are primarily concern with the monetary and cultural benefits that Hutchins Memorial can bring to Ponca City.

The Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) is charged with the advisory oversite of Hutchins Memorial and Marland's Grand Home. They report findings and make recommondations to the Mayor. At a recent public meeting called by the CAC a very comprehensive PowerPoint presentation was given explaining all practical options thus far offered. If you have PowerPoint it can be viewed HERE.
